News & Events

In May 2016, Island Liaison planned and presented this first event focusing on Pacific Islander Women and teenage girls from the region of Micronesia. It was crucial to bring awareness of these critical topics directly to women and teenage girls. The purpose of the Pacific Island Women's and Girl's Health & Safety Day was to present five critical topics: domestic violence, bullying, reproductive health issues/teen pregnancy, establishing healthy boundaries and navigating the system, and empowering and branding yourself. Topics were chosen to help the women and teenage girls understand what they can do to protect and improve their overall health and well being.
